A father and son who were killed on the Loop 202 on Friday evening have been identified as 77-year-old Albert Tabaha Sr. and Calbert Tabaha, who was in his 40s.
They were killed after being struck by a Tesla while refueling their truck on the side of the road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS spokesperson Bart Graves said the driver of the Tesla was a woman, whose identity has not been made public. She is cooperating in the ongoing investigation, Graves said.
The men reportedly were filling their Chevrolet truck with gas when they were hit by the Tesla driver. She was not injured in the crash, and impairment was not considered a factor, according to Graves.
Graves reported the accident occurred about 6:30 p.m. on Loop 202, just north of Elliot Road in the Laveen neighborhood of Phoenix.

State troopers arrived and found two men struck by the Tesla. The driver remained at the accident.
The men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Phoenix Fire Department, according to Graves.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe set up for funeral expenses had raised over $7,000 Monday afternoon, more than half of its target.
Albert Tabaha Jr., who set up the page, stated that his father and brother were struck by a “high speed Tesla while wearing safety gear near the shoulder of the road.”
He said his oldest brother, Delbert, was a witness to the incident as he was also at the scene of the crash..
“My mother and matriarch of our family was distraught with grief as her husband of 53 years and her son, my brother, were taken from us,” he wrote on the GoFundMe. “My father was more than just the dad to my family, but our extended family to our families, friends and took on the fatherly role to our relatives who were seeking a father figure in their lives.”
According to Tabaha Jr., his father was just a week shy of his 77th birthday. He was a fan of rodeo, country music and automobiles. His older brother, Calbert, enjoyed watching sports, reading Alex Cross novels and was a huge dog lover.
